Biology Stories

Start here or see the diagram.JY;D#JU689P

It all started like this.

Congratulations! You are almost done with cegep and you can't wait for it to be over. You worked very hard and got an R score of 34.841 in your science program. It is now the time to chose what you will do next year. Choice 1: Go study dentistry at McGill University. Choice 2: Go study medicine at Harvard University.

Scene 1.

You have decided to become a dentist and study at McGill. It is your first day of school and you have to choose where you want to sit in class. Choice 1: Go sit with the lonely girl in the middle of the class. She looks like she would need a friend. Choice 2: Go sit in the front right in front of the teacher. Choice 3: Go sit by yourself in the middle of the class.

Scene 2.

You have decided to got sit with the lonely girl. Her name is Rosa. Your biology teacher gives a lab report that you have to do for next week and you have to decide if you want to do the report alone or with the lonely girl. Choice 1: You prefer to do it alone. Choice 2: You decide to do it with Rosa.

Scene 3.

You have decided to do the project alone. You are almost done, but you are not sure about something and you need help. Choice 1: You decide to ask Rosa for help. Choice 2: You send an email to everyone in your class to see if someone can help you.

Scene 4.

You asked Rosa for help, but she was mad that you did not want to do the project with her so she gives you false information and you fail your lab report. Start again: You did not get lucky! Start again to see if you can do better.

Scene 5.

You have decided to send an email to everyone, but no one responded. Everyone at school made fun of you for not being able to do the lab and you got a bad reputation because of this. No one thinks you can pull off the next projects. Start again: You did not make a good choices this time. Try again.

Scene 6.

You have decided to do the project with Rosa. She calls you the day before you have to give back the report to tell you that she really needs help with her part of the project. You are not sure about what to do because she creeps you out. Choice 1: You can go to her home to try to help her. Choice 2: You can try do to do her part on your own.

Scene 7.

You went to her home and she was super nice and made you cookies. You two worked really hard and got a good grade on this lab report. Also, you did all of your projects with her and got straight A's all year. Start again: Do you want to see if you can do better? Go try again.

Scene 8.

You tried to do her part on your own, but you did not have enough time to do it well. You found a great source and tried to paraphrase it, but you did it too fast and got accused of plagiarism. You got kicked out of McGill and got a dead-end job. Start again: You can do better! Try again

Scene 9.

You have decided to sit in front of the teacher. His name is Mr. Lafleur. He asks everyone in the class to present themselves and say why they want to become a dentist. Choice 1: You raise your hand right away to be the first to speak. Choice 2: You are to shy to speak in front of everyone and prefer to hear what others have to say.

Scene 10.

You decided to raise your hand quickly, and the teacher listens carefully to what you have to say. After the class, he asks you to come see him in his office to continue speaking with you because he feels that you have potential and he wants to get to know you more. Choice 1: You feel flattered and decide to go see him. Choice 2: You don't think it is appropriate to go.

Scene 11.

You went to his office and he was super flirtatious with you and did not ask you anything about dentistry. He was only interested about your love life. You left his office feeling very uncomfortable. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 12.

You decided to not go see your teacher and instead went to see a movie with some new friends you made. The next day at school, everyone was shocked, Mr.Lafleur had been arrested for sexual harassment because many female students made complaints about him to the police. Start again: You made great choices! Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 13.

You have decided to not speak in front of everyone. Someone points out that you did not speak and tries to undermine you by saying that you definitely don't have what it takes to be a good dentist. Choice 1: You start crying and run outside the class. Choice 2: You respond to the person attacking you.

Scene 14.

You decided to run out of class because you felt ashamed. You did not see where you were going and a student was walking with a dental scaler in his hands and you bumped into him. The dental scaler impaled you and you died. Start again: Try again to do better.

Scene 15.

You decided to confront the student that intimidated you. Everyone in your class took your side and you got the respect of your peers. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 16.

You decided to sit by yourself in the middle of the class. The teacher walks in and gives everyone a test to know the level of the class in biology. You feel very stressed because you haven't studied all summer long. Choice 1: You do your best and hope that you will get a good grade. Choice 2: You decide to cheat to not seem stupid.

Scene 17.

You have tried your best for the test and give back your test to your teacher. You are not very sure about your answers. Some students invite you to go eat ice cream with them. Choice 1: You got out with them. Choice 2: You decide to go home study anatomy.

Scene 18.

You went out with some students and ate ice cream. You spent a very fun night and made some friends. The next day, the teacher comes in and apologizes to everyone because her dog ate all of the tests. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 19.

You went home to study anatomy, but as soon as you walked into your room you saw your bed and you jumped on it and you took a big nap. When you woke up, you saw that your teacher emailed you your grade and you got 85%. You promised yourself to not doubt yourself again. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 20.

You have decided to cheat to be sure to get a good grade. You now have to choose the person you want to copy. Choice 1: Copy on the girl on your right that has big glasses and a Campbell on her desk. Choice 2: Copy on the girl on your lef. She is applying nail polish on her nails.

Scene 21.

You tried to copy the answers of the girl with the big glasses. She caught you cheating, but she decides to let you copy her. Unfortunately, the teacher spots you and gives you a zero on the test. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 22.

You decided to copy the girl that was applying nail polish. At first, you couldn't see what she was writing, so you waited a little bit. As soon as she finished, you started copying her. You almost copied half of the test when her bottle of nail polish fell on her test. You did not have the time to try to do the exam by yourself so you failed it. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

_______________________________________________________________________

Scene 23.

You have decided to go study medicine at Harvard University. This choice will cost you many thousands of dollars. How do you plan on paying the tuition fees? Choice 1: You decide to invest your money in the stock market. Choice 2: You decide to start selling weed.

Scene 24.

You have decided to invest your money and hope that you will make enough to pay for your education. You have to be very careful about the decisions you make. You are very stressed about this decision. One day, you are in class learning how the liver detoxifies the body when you see that you lost 20% of everything you invested. Choice 1: You run out of class in panick. Choice 2: You stay in class trying to not think about it.

Scene 25.

You ran out of class in panic. You run until you are in front of 2 doors. Choice 1: You take the one on the left. Choice 2: You take the one on the right.

Scene 26.

As soon as you opened the left door, the dean of the faculty sends you an email to tell you that you obtained a scholarship that would pay for all of your expenses. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 27.

You open the door and start running again. You get home and see that you have lost everything you have invested. You can no longer pay for your education and you have no other choice than to go back to your parent's house and forget about becoming a doctor at Harvard. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 28.

You decided to stay in class and try to not think about it. The teacher comes in class and says that you will learn how to make a plaster cast. He brings in patients and you have to choose on who you want to practice. Choice 1: The old lady that is smiling at you. Choice 2: The middle-aged man that seems annoyed to be here.

Scene 29.

You decided to practice on the old lady. She was nice and explained to you that she could not afford a real doctor and that you were the first person she talked to this week. This made you think that even if you lost some money, you still had a really nice life. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 30.

The man was you chose was a trader, so you explained your situation to him. He gave you some advice and you got all of your money back and even made some. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 31.

You have decided to start selling weed. You become known around campus as the weed dealer. One day, a client that you don't know calls you and he makes a very big command. He wants you to come meet him the next day. Choice 1: You go, you really need that money. Choice 2: You don't go, it feels to weird, the command is too big.

Scene 32.

You decided to go meet him. As soon as you get where he wanted to see you, you recognize your biology teacher. Choice 1: You go talk to him. Choice 2: You go home, because you are afraid that it is a set-up.

Scene 33.

You decided to go see your teacher that wanted to buy you weed. He is super nice and tells you that he has cancer and that weed is the only thing that attenuates his pain. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 34.

You were too afraid to go talk to your teacher. While you are walking home, you are arrested by the police. You get kicked out of the country and never become a doctor. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 35.

You decided to not go meet the client. You have a chemistry class this morning, but you feel very sick. Choice 1: You skip the class. Choice 2: You go to the class.

Scene 36.

You decided to skip your chemistry class to stay at home. You are watching a movie on your computer when a burglar comes in your house and kills you. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

Scene 37.

You went to your chemistry class. You started feeling well very quickly. You spent a good day. Start again: Try again to see if you can do better.

A Day in the Life of a Dentist

In cegep, my program is Science and my field of study is biology. I study living organisms. I am learning about the way the human body works and I find it very interesting. Also, I love to work with my hands. Therefore, my dream is to be a dentist because I can mix both of these interests.

A dentist is a qualified person that can treat any condition that affects the mouth of their patient. A good dentist needs to be meticulous, they must have a good medical knowledge and they need to know how to interact with people. Teeth and gums are what  dentists work on.  They have adapted their practice to the community standards of what healthy gums and teeth are. For example, they whiten teeth more and more frequently. Dentists need to be qualified to do dental surgery to be able to operate on anything concerning the bone structure of the mouth or any complicated oral procedure. The rest of the work is taken care of by the assistants. They do the X-Rays and they clean patients mouths. A big part of the job is teaching to patients how to take good care of their mouth. Good dentists know how to interact with patients effectively. Some diseases and their complicated treatments could be avoided if  patients took care of their dental health. Dentists are here to detect the first signs of a disease and help patients avoid an intricate treatment. To be able to do this successfully, dentist need to see their patients regularly. Unfortunately, it is not happening because many patients can’t afford to see their dentist on the regular because of the health insurance they have. A normal work day for a dentist lasts between 7 and 10 hours. Of course, it could be more if there is an urgent situation concerning a patient. The fact that dentists can have a regular schedule is an advantage that explains why students are attracted to this profession.  A lot of dentist agree that being able to take breaks and spend quality time with your loved ones justify the long hours they must work. If they chose another path like being a doctor, they would have a way more packed schedule than a dentist. There are many expenses that a dentist needs to cover. For example, they need to pay for dental assistants, for good products, for apparatus and for insurance concerning their legal responsibility. To be able to afford these expenses, dentist try to have effective days, which means that they attempt to treat as many patients as possible.

In conclusion, I can affirm that this is the job that suits me the best. I really hope that I will be accepted into this program.

3 Great Websites to Help You Become a Dentist

In Quebec, there are many steps if you want to get into the dentistry program. A lot of people want to get into this program so you have to be very determined if this is the profession you want.
